THE SURFING ALGARVE TEAM
WAVE CULTURE manages various websites on the subject of surfing, markets surf camps worldwide, and is the publisher of the popular WAVE CULTURE surf books and has been running since 2003 the WAVE CULTURE Surf Lodge in the Algarve.
What drives us is our love of the sea, nature and of course surfing. At the surf lodge we not only want to offer you a good quality standard in a family environment, but also share with you the love and passion that drives us.
Our aim is to ensure that every guest, regardless of whether they are traveling alone, as a couple, in a group or as a family, can feel comfortable and a bit at home with us and can enjoy a pleasant holiday atmosphere and a relaxed surfing feeling among like-minded people.
Our surf school, founded in 2001, is located in the very southwest of the Algarve, surrounded by the picturesque landscape of the Costa Vicentina nature reserve. Here the rough west coast meets the milder south coast. This region of the Algarve offers numerous excellent surf beaches, which are among the most consistent in Europe.
Our surf instructors, with whom we have been working closely for many years, are among those with the most teaching experience in the Algarve. Their goal is not just to get you standing on the surfboard, but to teach you surfing and a love of the sea.
No matter whether you are a complete beginner or have many years of surfing experience, our team will push you to the next level. With enthusiasm and patience, our surf instructors give you individual feedback and encourage you according to your surfing skills.
GETTING THERE
The journey is on your own, with the easiest way being by plane to Faro, but via Lisbon is also possible. We can offer you a shuttle from Faro airport. Alternatively, you can rent a car or travel by public transport.
In the high season (July – September), arrival and departure is only possible on weekends.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE
For the airport transfer from Faro to the WAVE CULTURE Surf Lodge in Burgau or to the surf camp in Sagres, you can use the private airport shuttle from Lagos Transfers (from 85 EUR per trip).
Public transport
You can also use public transport from the airport to Burgau or Sagres. Buses or buses run several times a day Trains from Faro or Lisbon to Lagos as well as the airport bus from Vamus (line 56) from Faro to Lagos.
SURF CAMP RATING
We are always happy to receive feedback from our guests and perhaps you can get a better impression of us from the reviews of the surf lodge and surf courses.
The view is unique, the breakfast is amazing, the people are totally relaxed and there are competent surf instructors to guarantee learning success. But the dot on the 'i' would be missing if the busy hustle and bustle of the surf lodge team didn't work in the background. With their loving devotion, this place becomes a little paradise.
